While we, Kelly and Troy, are passionate about Modern, Mid-Century and Ranch homes {and design} we care about people first. Our clientele definitely comes with a point of view and we love assisting them in taking the first step in buying/creating or selling their tailored nest here in the mountains. After all, your home is your third skin ~ the most outward reflection of who you are. Your home is your PLACE to be YOU and only you.
What makes us ~ US? For the past 12+ years we fully use both hemispheres of our brains in the process of real estate problem solving. We weren’t always Realtors. At one point we both managed complex creative and story driven projects in film, television, theme park design and product design. Even then we were successfully manifesting the vision of others long before our success with homes. We know how to manage the intricacies of complicated processes, insure investments, keep everyone on the same page all while maintaining the initial vision and spirit of each project. From street smarts to intuition and from the big picture to the minuscule details our combined abilities can help you achieve your personalized lifestyle dreams and make a smart investment for both your spirit, your wallet and well-being. We will let you know when you need to jump or when to pause and breathe. We know the nuances of Asheville’s specialized market.

Kelly Erin-Spinney

Kelly comes from a family of real estate developers and has been a licensed realtor since 2009. Her previous careers in the film and television industry (first as a fearless stuntwoman, then later as a producer and Assistant to 2nd Unit Director) helped develop her ability to quickly assimilate to ever-changing locations and conditions, a talent she now brings to her real estate clients. Kelly’s coast-to-coast network facilitates transactions in Asheville, throughout the U.S., and abroad. She loves the art of the deal, and is a fierce protector of people and their resources. She’s also an effective problem solver, quick to come up with out of the box solutions to get her clients to the end game.
Kelly has the perfect DNA a successful realtor needs, easily navigating the transition from home-seeker to home owner or property investor. She’s equally comfortable selling or seeking the ideal home for her clients, and she will happily share her ideas and resources for remodeling a fixer-upper, while keeping a close eye on the bottom line of their investment.
On a personal note, Kelly spends her hobby time promoting and pursuing health and wellness both at home and with a community of followers. With their daughter Chandler in Washington DC, she and her husband, Chett, live in a 1972 MCM Post and Beam "Deck House" in north Asheville that they enjoy updating — blending the original spirit of the home with warm, playful new details. They love to entertain and generously share good food, a good swim, and lots of laughter.
Troy Winterrowd
OWNER / BROKER
Troy began his career in real estate in 2008. After receiving a BA in Architecture, Troy led a diverse and creative career, including building Earthships in Taos, designing theme parks as a Disney Imagineer, and owning his own art and design gallery in Astoria, Oregon. Troy’s creativity and big picture perspective enable him to flush out the ideal environment for the new homeowner, established builder, or real estate investor. He can walk through a home and visually help buyers see how to create the lifestyle they are looking for.
In addition, Troy brings his experiential design and storytelling skills to the Modern Asheville team. He started the design blog, Modern Asheville, so he could capture stories of local modern makers, artists, and designers throughout the region, and channel their work and/or vision into unique real estate properties owned by folks with a definite style and point of view. Troy’s marketing skills allow him to visually and verbally lead people through a property from a distance. Not only can he capture the experience and function of a home, but he can convey the heart as well.
Troy is the second owner of his original 1950’s cottage in North Asheville. He loves being in a walkable community surrounded by the diverse college and community. He is further exploring his creativity through painting and spends time practicing yoga, kayaking and hiking in nature.
