This article from dwell magazine seems to capture many of the ways people are changing how they live within their homes including home offices, multi-functional spaces, less open living to connecting to the outdoors. “As we clock seven months of lockdown, we reached out to designers to see how the pandemic has reshaped our interiors so far. What are clients prioritizing, and what new trends are emerging as a result? What’s becoming clear is that 2020 has brought a renewed focus on function and flexibility on top of aesthetics as we navigate a new normal.” Go HERE for the full article. Enjoy!

We are so pleased to bring to the the market this cool, contemporary home with distant mountain views privately located in Sugar Hollow of pastoral Fairview. This "Deck House" is an architectural, mid-century home type reflecting a California Post and Beam style home using natural materials and glass to bring the outside to the inside. The home has been mindfully updated and opened up including a new kitchen, bath and laundry making it both fresh and functional. Two of the three lower bedrooms have been converted into a permitted Airbnb currently serving guests, but can function as two extra bedrooms for the home. The home is embraced by large decks and outdoor entertaining areas. There is a separate two car garage or workshop plus exterior parking and drives to easily access both levels of the home. The home is actually four bedrooms while septic permit is for three. There is potential to subdivide off a lot to sell or build an ADU or other home for a compound.
Give us a shout for more information or to schedule a personal tour. We have a complete listing package ready to send you including floor plans and a 360 walk thru tour. In the mean time take the full virtual tour here. Cheers! Kelly and Troy

I was just at the Asheville Art Museum and Blue Spiral Gallery on Monday and appreciating our art scene we get to enjoy here. John Cram was a big reason for that. We at Modern Asheville Real Estate are nothing, but grateful for his leading the way in the art and culture scene here in Asheville. Part of our success today is built from the foundation he created. Love and Blessings to his family and friends. Kelly and Troy
“Cram believed not only in himself, but in Asheville, and committed his life to revitalizing a city he felt was not merely a diamond in the rough but the gem of the mountains - even when its downtown was on the brink of extinction and its future hung in the balance.” See the full tribute at the Citizen Times here.

“Located on 1.98-acres off Town Mountain Road in Asheville, the build site is wooded and quite steep. “The lot also has large setbacks which limited our options as far as the house’s location,” says Markulis. These factors all contributed to the unique sculptural shape of the house. This design, which has a narrow footprint, allows the house to take full advantage of the cooler weather at the site’s higher elevations and permits nearly every space within the home to benefit from natural light.” by Paul Howey
