Yeah! We are so excited for our buyers who just closed on this beautifully maintained condo in The Timbers. Now they will start creating their personal midcentury styled pad here in the mountains. We can’t wait to see what they do. Having worked with them for years we know it is going to be great. Cheers to you!
Within my own home we debate painting brick on pretty much every brick home we see. The 50’s duplex I own I chose not to paint the brick as I love the variety of colors in it. And Kelly and I often talk about painting brick ranch homes to modernize them. I admit I have not considered the implications in doing this as I’m often driven by aesthetics and color. Recently I came across this article on houselogic.com. It breaks out reasons you should not paint your brick and where it may be appropriate. Following this I was made aware that actually staining brick can be healthier for exterior brick surfaces. See more on that here. Regardless of which direction you go you will be better informed in making that decisions and have a couple more options. Cheers!

While we know there is plenty of modern art to enjoy in Asheville there are a couple of new exhibits worth noting. At the Asheville Art Museum there is a new exhibit featuring midcentury modern design from Black Mountain College. You will find some great examples, art and drawings of some of the buildings there. Find out more here.
And tomorrow, Nov.6th the new Citron Gallery is having their Grand Opening downtown with contemporary artists Anna Carl, Betty Clark, Frances Domingues and Rand Kramer. The opening reception is from 5 to 8pm. Enjoy!
We wish you, our clients and friends a safe and fun Halloween full of giggles. Take a moment to play today. Boo! Troy and Kelly
Living in a small midcentury space I rely heavily on my furnishings doing double duty as storage for anything from candles and vases to tool kits and light bulbs. Atomic Ranch has provided some new options in the marketplace here today to help you find that key MCM feature piece that helps you organize your space, too. Locally, you can visit Atomic Furnishings and some of our other resellers in Asheville. Enjoy!
Kelly and I were able to tour this amazing home designed by J. Bertram King this past week. Built in 1959 this home has been preserved by the original family here in Asheville. From all the amazing cabinetry, the kitchen details and one of the earliest sliding glass walls we have seen we walked around weak kneed. Please enjoy the photo tour on our J.Bertram King fan page. And if you have interest in purchasing this home it is still being shown and we would be happy to set up a private tour. Cheers!
