Frank Lloyd Wright pioneered the concept of building unique houses into natural landscapes in the early 20th century. Decades after his revolution, modern architects leveraged technology to create gravity-defying homes that seem more like livable art. Other homes are inspired and sympathize with the natural environment around them much like the Albert Frey home we visited in Palm Springs a couple of years back while others are more juxtaposed as sculpture. Discover some of these unique homes here. Enjoy!

“Known for its access to the great outdoors and the majesty of the Blue Ridge Mountains, its long tradition of craftsmanship, and a thriving culinary scene, Asheville, North Carolina, has long drawn creatives seeking a connection to nature. Stroll the streets of the Appalachian city, and you’ll find a rich architectural heritage ranging from the Art Deco City Hall, to the French Renaissance Biltmore Estate, to Arts and Crafts-style homes that paved the way for more modern and contemporary styles.”
One of the benefits of living in our area is our ability to live outdoors. Given our sloping terrain that could often require both a deck and a ground level patio for which there are many options in materials. Kelly and Chett recently and dramatically expanded their deck using TImberTech. David and I are considering adding a deck and covered patio in 2023 as our next home update. There are many options to choose in terms of style and durability that work best for you and your home. House Beautiful recently published this article on the Pros and Cons of those material choices. Please find a sunny spot and enjoy!
We have been following the evolution of local artist Hoss Haley for years and are so excited about his upcoming show at the Momentum Gallery. Today, there is an artist reception for him from 5pm to 8pm. For more information go here. Hope to see you out and about. Cheers!
Yeah! We are so excited for our buyers. Working together we were able to secure this sweet brick bungalow for them sitting on one acre along a creek for their own private playland. As you can see the long time renters are stoked. Securing their first home here in Asheville required consistency and creativity and we were all driven to get it done. A special thanks to the listing agent for her help as well. It took a team. Cheers to you both! We are so happy for you.
Yeah! Congrats to our sellers on the closing of their family’s home in Swannanoa. They worked diligently to prepare both their home and themselves to sell and start their new venture. Now that it has closed they get to move on to their new journey in Europe where they will be living, working and teaching. The makes our second family this year moving to Europe. We are wishing you a wonderful journey ahead. Cheers!
Considering selling? We would love to help you as we did this family. Give us a call! Kelly and Troy
Congrats to our sellers who closed on their beloved family retreat home. The home was tucked quietly into a corner of a neighborhood creating a private retreat. One of our sellers was a master woodworker who crafted many of the great details the new buyer gets to enjoy. Circumstances required this change for our family and we were able to set up the process to make this as easy and painless as possible for our clients. Our hearts tug at us a bit on this one and we are wishing all parties a blessed and gentle future. Cheers to you!
Reach out to Kelly and Troy if you are looking to sell your home. We would love to help you. Cheers!
Cheers to buyers Amanda and Andrew for landing the their first home here in Asheville. They were eager, active and knowledgeable buyers who didn’t get discouraged by the competitive market. And we loved helping them. Now, one month before their wedding, they have a sweet place to call home. And not just one home, but also an accessory dwelling for extra income. So smart! We are so happy for them. Cheers to you both!
Yesterday, while running around collecting signs and lockboxes and helping two different sellers empty their homes last minute {plus a buyer walk-thru} it was fun to catch a glimpse of this stack of our signs. Having 3 Sellers and 3 Buyers closing in a small period of time could seem simple. However, even with our 30 years of collective experience between us and streamlining the process along the way there are always unique circumstances to each sale and you never know what you may find yourself doing to finish the job. We love the energy, it makes for fun memories and we feel good having went the extra mile for our folks. Grateful. Cheers!
