We had Earth Day this week so I thought it only appropriate to reflect on some modern design that was site and earth sensitive. {click on links} Whether they are directly influenced by the nature around them or live lightly on our earth and resources take some time to be inspired by some of these designs. There is no reason to not be sensitive to nature, our resources and our community when adding to our built environment. Enjoy your rainy Sunday. Cheers!
Join us with AIA Asheville’s screening of Masterpieces – the most Extraordinary Buildings Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright next Tuesday evening at the Grail Moviehouse. Meet the Producer and Director Michael Miner. Cheers!
This week continues Modern Asheville Real Estate‘s first quarter upward trend. We closed on homes for one buyer and one seller this week. One of our mid-century clients traded in their groovy pad for a right-sized, rustic retreat and one of our investors lightened their rental property load while the market was in full swing. And did we mention we were able to get another buyer and seller under contract at the same time? With two full days left this week who knows what we will get done. Cheers to us!

Good Morning Folks. In our team’s discussions around new residential homes here in Asheville we often bring up the term “Shed-style” roof. Overall, it is a popular design feature for our contemporary mountain homes. Often designers use it to emulate the vernacular of a shed or a more utilitarian style of architecture. At other times it is used to either open up your view or control the sun coming in. I thought the below video gave a nice overview of the popular roof style here in Asheville. Enjoy!
