How about this bit of inspiration from the west to start off your week?

Teton Valley Residence | American studio Ro Rockett Design has completed a family retreat in the wilderness of Idaho, which sits on a stone base to avoid flooding and provide the best views of the surrounding landscape. See the rest here and have a great week. Cheers!

Happy Birthday Frank Lloyd Wright

In honor of one of our most celebrated architects we thought it would be worthwhile sharing, once again, one of our favorite posts on the man himself.  Cheers!

1953 Frank Lloyd Wright interview by Mike Wallace | I scoured the internet for something of interest to watch last night. It is not always very fruitful, but this time I found something "fantastic"—at least from my viewpoint. If you've never seen this before I'm happy to share this treasure with you today. His belief in individualism and his views on the lack of intellectualism and "mobocracy" hit home today. I won't say more, but simply encourage you to spend 50 minutes to watch this interview with a true visionary who is, obviously, very comfortable in his own skin. Enjoy the segment here . Cheers!

Before and After | Mid-Century

For all the years we've been in the business and watching cool properties we get to see a lot of diamonds in the rough. This one especially tugged at our hearts when we saw the 1965 vintage, mid-century home in North Asheville in its original and untouched condition.

The home sits in the Kimberley Woods neighborhood—one of the many well located, mid-century and ranch home neighborhoods we have here in Asheville.

Driving through last week we recently saw the updates and had to share. What do YOU think?

Modern Monday

TEN MODERN MUSEUMS | From our online Design Milk feed comes this overview of cool museums across the globe whose architecture alone is inspirational. I'll add the Getty in LA to that list which is one of our personal favorites having both lived in Southern California. Enjoy and have a wonderful Monday. Cheers!

One Roof for both Indoor and Outdoor

Given our beautiful and temperate environment here in Asheville we are always looking for ways to create more outdoor living to maximize our homes and living experience. This home came across one of our design feeds showcasing one way to capture indoor and outdoor spaces under one iconic roof. Enjoy!

New Mid-Century Style Home with View

"At the end of a dirt road through the woods, an empty lot with Atlantic Ocean views provided the ideal spot for a couple to build their dream home. Avid collectors of vintage Danish furniture, these empty-nesters desired a new midcentury-inspired house to feature their furniture collection and take advantage of the views."

While not in Asheville this home would sit well in any natural setting with a view blurring the lines between inside and outside. For further inspiration take the rest of the tour here. Cheers!
